Albany, creativity, community, and disability In Albany, Western Australia, a five-year developmental arts project - Unhiding - introduced many local people to the exciting possibilities of long term creative arts participation. Responding to the expressed longings of residents with disabilities, Unhiding offered opportunities for the mainstream community to join with people with a disability to produce exciting artistic outcomes, develop new friendships, and re-affirm the creative and expressive talents and contributions that all people contribute to our living culture. This book celebrates the achievements of people in Albany, tells the story of Unhiding, and outlines and evaluates the practices that contributed to Unhiding.
