ReCreate - June 2006 to June 2007
ReCreate was a pilot project for The Lost Generation Project. ReCreate was designed for 13 participants residing in the Shire of Mundaring and 10 in the Shire of Kalamunda.
The project comprised of 8 weeks of in-house art, music and dance workshops, 20 weeks of Whole of Community workshops in both Shires and film making opportunities for 21 participants .
Throughout the project, the participants were involved creating artwork for Trek the Trail and the Zig Zag Walk. They also participated in a sculpture workshop, the Zig Zag Walk, the Chidlow Show and Mosaics at the Hub. Over the course of the project, project participants and community members created artwork for an exhibition at the Bendigo Bank, the No. 1 Pump Station, the Kalamunda Agricultural Hall and Centro Kalamunda Shopping Centre. Films of the participants were also screened at the Chidlow Hall, the Kalamunda Agricultural Hall and at the Mundaring Peace Festival.
One of the outcomes for the project has been the formation of the Arts and Cultural Partnership Project in 2007 in the Shires of Mundaring and Kalamunda, Hills Community Support Group, The National Trust (W.A) and Disability Services Commission Accommodation Services Directorate. The project aims to provide inclusive arts workshops for both the Mundaring and Kalamunda communities in 2008.
