New Youth Project: Stepping Forward

Stepping Forward is a project is about getting young people of all abilities together, to explore and collaborate on contemporary arts projects.

The Stepping Forward  project is about getting young people with and without disabilities living in the City of Swan region together, to explore and collaborate on exciting contemporary arts projects. This project focuses on dance, through a partnership with STEPS Youth Dance Company, as well as building in allied art forms. Sound and animation will also be incorporated to create performance ideas. The projects’ creative staff will work with the participants to develop arts processes, self-expression, teamwork, and artistic outcomes.

Through the project, participants will be involved in inclusive skill building and social networking opportunities, facilitating respect for diversity and inclusive environments.

Young people involved will have opportunities to perform at, and be part of Hyper Fest, a major youth festival in the City of Swan.
