About Face Workshops for 2007 have started!
Since March 21st, the Stirling Street Arts Centre and Musical and Comedy Theatre has been abuzz with activity as our participants get busy with it!
This year DADAA are proud to announce the arrival of our 2007 set of saturday workshops including Clay and Mosaics, Writing for Performance and Story Telling through Visual Arts.
We are lucky to have yet again the services of the very talented community playwright, Margot Edwards, who is our arts worker for the Writing For Performance workshops. Last year this workshop produced the fantastic multimedia production titled 'Race for Red Mary' which had a pilot screening at the City of Bunbury Shorelines Writing for Performance. This multimedia piece shall be officially launched later this year.
The Stirling Street Arts Centre has stepped up to the mark yet again and is offering a Clay and Mosaics class hosted by Dawn Mathieson. Inspired by this year's 'Spanish Theme', the workshops are taking on a Mediterranean flavour!
Our newest addition to the DADAA regional team, is local artist Marina Troitsky. Marina is at the reins of our Story Telling through Visual Arts workshop, involving painting and drawing and revolving around the central theme of 'self'. Our participants are getting to know themselves through art and have been busy splashing the paint around, coming up with some fantastic peices already!
All our dynamic workshops are currently contributing towards our big DADAA Spring Touring exhibition & performance that looks set to have 2 exciting shows in both Bunbury and Fremantle. We hope to make a huge impact after our last effort being the 'Bridging the Gap' exhibition 2006, was a great success.
Our 'Bridging the Gap' sculpture is looking grand and currently in its final stages of production, to be launched in 2008.
